Undergraduate Research: Bringing Digital Fashion Designs into Reality

About the project!

The first studio project of my first year of my degree was to create 4 circle skirts in CLO 3D with unique surface designs. When using the software, I was immediately amazed by its potential to be used as a tool for innovations in size inclusivity and sustainability! I asked my professor if it would be possible to create one of these skirts in real life, and from there the undergraduate research project was born!

Thank you so much to Dr. Porterfield and Professor Woodbridge for pursing this research with me and being my mentors for this project!

I am deeply grateful to have been awarded funding by the NC State University Office of Undergraduate Research to purse this project!

My research began in September 2022 and concluded in May 2023! This project strengthened my organizational skills greatly, as I had to make myself a schedule that would allow me to complete my research project by May!
